Reiki is widely recognized as an effective treatment modality that can be used as a complement to traditional therapies.  In fact, many of the most prestigious hospitals across the country include Reiki as part of their integrative medicine programs such as Harvard Cancer Center, Yale New Haven Hospital, Mass General Hospital, Johns Hopkins, to name a few.

Clinical studies have shown that Reiki significantly reduces pain, anxiety, depression, and improves self-esteem and quality of life.  Research demonstrates that Reiki activates the parasympathetic nervous system which helps to explain the benefits seen across a broad range of chronic conditions.

Benefits of REIKI

Reiki is a healing energy that recalibrates overactive or underachieving energy centers in the body called chakras, Recalibration of the chakras will restore your energy fields and beyond, depending on your needs at the time of reiki. This allows your body the space to start healing physically, emotionally and at a soulular level.

Reiki has been reported to alleviate anxiety and stress, the perception of pain, and to promote a feeling of psychospiritual well-being. During the session clients may experience varying feelings and emotions, but most commonly reported feeling heat or tingling at the area reiki is being given.

What to do BEFORE your session

Best to avoid a fatty meal at least 2 hours prior to the session so it does not impact your ability to gain the full benefits of the healing energy. Wear comfortable clothes to the session, be ready to relax and be open to receiving reiki.

What to expect DURING your session

When you arrive, we’ll chat for about 15 minutes on how you are feeling, your expectations, if there are any specific area you want me to focus on and other things like that. I’ll then ask you to lay on a reiki / massage table, fully clothed with shoes off (with or without a blanket- your choice), relax and be open to receiving reiki. Throughout the session, I’ll hover my hands over your body, only touching in certain areas if acceptable by you.

During the session you may experience varying feelings and emotions, but most clients have commonly reported feeling heat and tingling at the area reiki is being given. Some clients have described seeing different colors and shapes. Often clients do feel tired after a reiki session. This is because your body is working at healing at a cellular level and beyond.

What to expect AFTER your session

I’ll spend some time with you after the reiki session to go over how you felt during the session and any questions you might have. I’ll also share any healing messages received from my spirit guides and archangels.
